Mothers Day Orders

I had such a great month of April & May creating all my Mothers Day orders

this year. My business more than doubled from last year - WOW!

 

I made some of my classic and simple pieces, and also some really

fun Mothers Day pieces. I LOVED working on all of them!

The late nights were so worth it as each piece

left the house to someone I knew was

going to love it!

 

For those of you who are new to my jewelry, take a few minutes to click

I'll be posting a few of my favorites over the next few days - There are way to many to post

them all, but I want to make sure to share some that might give you an idea

for a custom piece your want made!

 

Next week I'll be off a few days celebrating with my youngest daughter Gabrielle,

who is graduating from EVIT - she has been studying this past year to be

 an aesthetician...I couldn't be happier about that! Who wouldn't want

someone to help you age gracefully the natural way?

It's really pretty AWESOME!

 

It's so interesting to have a child finish her career goals BEFORE she's graduates from

High School (She'll be a Senior next year)! Anyway, I'll post some

pictures of her so you can share in my

JOY of Motherhood!

Hope your all having a wonderful Mothers Day "Weekend" - if your anything like

me, you like it to last for more than just one day!

 

This is a picture of my Mothers Day necklace, designed by my daughter, Gabby!

She is my youngest child, who turns 18 in a few months (insert sigh here).

It's been nothing but rewarding being her mom - I LOVE & Adore her!

 

I know I've said it before, but I've always felt so blessed as a Mother - it's honestly been

my life's work and my greatest accomplishment! I've also been blessed with

two step-daughter's when I married my hubby, something I've

always cherished!

 

And then, there are my three boys - which have probably taught me the most in life.

They each have such different personalities, and yet, compliment each

other and me PERFECTLY! I am forever grateful for them and

consider myself a better person because of them!

 

I can't acknowledge this day without expressing my love for my son Allen on this

3rd Mothers Day without him. I can't lie, I miss him terribly, but I always

feel his presence, which brings me daily peace.

 

This year, one of my Mothers Day gifts was a trip to the nursery to pick out a

few rose bushes to start my memorial rose garden in honor of him.

It's something I've wanted to do since he passed away...

 

For those of you who knew Allen, you know that he always brought me roses for

holidays. It's something I've missed in his absence. I'll add more as time

goes by, but for now there are two beautiful fuchsia rose bushes 

planted and ready to give me beautiful roses!

This lovely lady is my Aunt Frieda (as I called her). It's an understatement to say that she influenced many, when in fact she influenced and touch every single person she came in contact with.

 

I only remember her showing love, laughter, and cooking some pretty fantastic food at our family get togethers when I was a kid.

It was a time in life when I ran and played with my cousins while the parents all laughed and talked in the living room. I never knew what they were all so happy about, but I remember I always liked hearing it...

 

She was a loving and patient mother - a woman who was always faithful to the principals and values of her faith. Never was there a time that she wavered in anything - she knew what was right and did it.

 

It's taken me a bit to write about her passing, mostly because I've been processing the events of her life and death. I hold extremely dear to my heart a message she sent for me just before she died - something that strengthened my faith in life after death.

 

She is now with her beloved husband John, who passed away many years ago - I sense she's happy to be with him, and I can distantly hear her laughter and contentment being with her loved ones who passed on before she did. I count myself lucky to have her near my son, Allen, who is also there. She will teach him all he needs to know about faith in all things. It's a beautiful thing...

 

This necklace is a dedication to her, and the life she lived. Her two girls, Sandy and Becky have each been given one as a tribute to their beautiful Mother, who truly lived a faithful life.

 

This is their 1st Mothers Day without her, one that will no doubt be a tender time. May this necklace bring you both just a little bit of comfort and peace not only this Mothers Day, but for the years to come when you need to feel her close to your heart.

I LOVE working at Vintage Heart Designs - It's a very small business I'm building from the ground up, where the ONLY other employees I have are my family - who ONLY get paid in stamped jewelry :)

 

I love creating designs and custom pieces for special events in your lives. I make necklaces for people who are celebrating, love, life, and happiness, but I also make them for the those who are grieving the loss of a loved one, or who just need words stamped on a necklace for inspiration and guidance! 

 

I often think back to the reason Vintage Heart Designs began. It was my way to honor my love for my son Allen who passed away suddenly almost 3 yrs ago. I'm the first to tell you how hard it was to adjust to his loss...but I also knew pretty quickly that I'd better create a new chapter in my life, a new reality of sorts. I just followed my heart and the tender promptings surrounding me during that first year, which led me to open Vintage Heart Designs a year after his death. I suppose it's safe to say my work has been my saving grace, and for that I'm eternally grateful.

 

So the other day I sat down to see just where my necklaces have been going, and was surprised all the different states I've shipped to since I started. It's AWESOME * your AWESOME!

 

I appreciate all the support from friends, family and all the lovely ladies I create for all over the USA (and a few other countries as well)

 

Wouldn't it be fun to be in all 50 states? I think that would be pretty great - I'll just keep stamping one state at a time, and who knows, maybe down the road I'll be in ALL of them! YAY!

It's a large 1 1/8" 20g nickel disk with "choose happiness" on it. The edges are

slightly hammered and the piece is domed to bring it character.

 

Hanging down the center is my new large 8mm white glass pearl, bold and fun!

It all hangs on a 30" nickel ball chain - perfect length that hangs nice

 and long over your favorite t-shirt or blouse.

Family Friends and stuff like that...

Enjoyed a visit with a long time friend Becky, who came to town last week.

 

 I originally met her when my hubby worked for US Airways and she was a rep that did business with him. Every time she comes in town she takes our family to dinner and talks  some business with the hubs and fun talk with me.

 

It's a lot of FUN, but mostly I've enjoyed getting to know her the past 10 years or so...

She's been a great support with the start up of my company, ordering several

 necklaces since it began. As a thank YOU for all she's done and my thanks

for our long time friendship I made her a necklace with her kids

names on it to honor her love of her kids.

 

Nothing made me happier than to see her face as she opened it up. I knew this necklace would

mean a lot to her since she has to travel so much. Now she can always carry them

close to her heart, even when she travels!

Candy, ice-cream, and grand babies just to name a few! Life is full of sweet and good things - all

we have to do is slow down so we recognize them.

 

I try not to make my life so busy that I don't see the little things. One of the things I always knew as
 I grew up was that little things matter.

 

Many of my childhood and young adult memories revolve around little things that made me happy. Having grown up very poor, it was a necessity to look at life differently, something I'm grateful for today. It's helped me roll with life's ups and downs as an adult, and appreciate all the good things that come my way!

In Memory of Madelyn Jorren * 1939 - 2013

Madelyn Jorren

 

Madelyn is the mother of one of my dearest friends Diane. Madelyn is a lady who took in

all who were lost, fed those who were hungry, and LOVED unconditionally all those who she knew.

 

In honor of her beautiful life, I've added the necklace below to my ETSY shop as a reminder of

the life and example she gave to all those who knew her.

 

I grieve today with her family who are laying her to rest on this day, April 5, 2013 in Renton, Washington. Although I cannot

be there in person, I'm whole heartily with them in spirit.

 

I've updated this necklace by adding hammered edges around the disk. My other one with smooth edges is still available as well, but this one gives all that beautiful character that a lady like Madelyn gave to life!

Rustic "Love You" Necklace

Love this lovely Rustic "Love You" necklace.  This necklace

got me thinking - thinking about love.

 

I think ideally we think of love as this perfect state of being, but in all reality it's a

LOT like this necklace, a bit off centered, rough around the edges

and oh so imperfect, and yet beautiful at the same time.

 

The definition of true love should really be a couple, despite all those things,

still takes the time to grow and learn from each other - flaws and all!

Olivas Family - Family and more!

My son Carsten has been serving his mission in the Palmdale, California area since October 2012. Pretty quickly we realized this was where my sister in law (Anyolina Wiser's) mom and dad lived...and sure enough they spotted each other at church and said hello!

 

They quickly invited Carsten and his companion to dinner (best food of his mission say's Carsten) and sure enough when they arrive, Carsten see's pictures of his cousins all over the house - he said it was a funny yet comforting feeling at the same time.

 

I have felt so BLESSED to have the Olivas family near my son - what mom doesn't love knowing first hand how their doing and that they are safe!

 

As Carsten's 21st birthday was approaching I contacted my sister in law Anyolina to see if her Mom could make Carsten his birthday cake this year...I knew next to me she would be the best lady around to make it, and according to how Carsten RAVES about her food, I also knew it would be totally YUMMY!

 

On Carsten's birthday, March 15th, Brother Olivas went to the missionary meeting being held at the church and came in singing the Happy Birthday song with a cake in hand! HOW funny was that!

 

So I get my e-mail from Carsten this morning and BOY was he super happy how his birthday turned out! The cake, the singing, lunch, presents, money and a great day spent with really great people in the Palmdale, California area!

 

Thank YOU, Thank YOU Olivas/Wiser family for making his day special - it meant the world to him! It's been the sweetest part of his mission for me listening to the fun stories he shares from that area and the Olivas family.

 

 

Off to El Salvador - Sister Jenna Chant

Jenna Chant has been called to serve a mission to El Salvador. She leaves April 3, 2013. Her mom had this sterling silver necklace made for her to wear while she's away from home to remind her that her heart is with her as she serves.

Mommy Necklace

I have a fun client that has me make necklaces for her all the time. She has a large family so theres always something to celebrate.

 

Such is the case with this necklace - she had me make it for her daughter-in-law who just had a little girl

named Halli Jo over the holidays. The necklace has both her little ones names on it, a beautiful

reflection of this adorable family.

Today is the funeral of a young mother. She leaves behind three small children and a

 loving husband who's heart is undoubtedly broken.

 

My friend Emily asked me make this necklace for the oldest daughter who is 6 years old. A token given to her to

keep her mother close in the next days and years to come.

 

The two tiny sterling silver hearts represent the Mother and Daughter...and the
larger one is their bond they share together.

 

The word she had be stamp is a word the family used in their home. They always believed they

would make it through anything, unbroken they would say.

 

I pray for this family as they begin their journey of healing...

 



Back in the Shop - January 2, 2013

It's 2013

 

Here we are - it's a NEW YEAR with new possibilities. I spent my day organizing, stamping, returning e-mails, and meeting with my assistant to discuss what sayings we'd like to add to the Vintage Heart Designs collection this year.

 

Today also stamped this Happy NEW YEAR - 2013 necklace shown in the picture below.

 

This nickel necklace can be customized with any saying, names, or words up to 23 letters (spaces count as letters). The charm alone is $17.

All you need to do is decide what chain to hang it from $3 to $10.

 

This skinny leather rope shown in the photo is a new option. It hangs about 30" in length. It's tied at the back slipping over your head so there's no need for clasps or toggles making it super fun and casual.  I've been testing it the past few months and LOVE it. The cost is $7.

ate great food, visited Candy Cane Lane, went to
the movies and did some after

Vintage Heart Designs is open for business again. As much as

I LOVED my time away, I'm just as excited to get

back to stamping necklaces and creating

pieces for all of you.

 

My new year looks like this: 

*My 1st Grand daughter is due in January...

*I'm taking a trip to see my oldest son and little Sis in February...

*My youngest son returns from his LDS mission in August...

This necklace has been a big seller this holiday season. I've made it for clients to give as gifts with the white pearl,

and also with a black Swarovski as shown in this photo.

 

My favorite is the one in this photo - something about the black Swarovski just looks like

winter to me, and the saying just says it all doesn't it?

 

I hope your all enjoying this Christmas season. Mine has been great so far. I've had time to get all my

custom orders done - well, almost done - I have a few more I'm working on. I've also

had time to spend with friends over lunch or shopping and I've got lots

of fun things planned this next week with my family.

Vintage Heart Designs wishes each of you a Happy Thanksgiving Day! I'm spending it with family enjoying a

traditional thanksgiving dinner!

 

We're closed today and tomorrow, to be with my family decorating for the Christmas season and eating

as much pumpkin pie as possible.

 

I've just added these Swarovski bezel crystals to my line of

blingy goodness. They are each $5 and can be added

to any of my jewelry pieces. They come in

birthstone colors plus black.

round charm which can accommodate one word

To celebrate Thanksgiving I chose the 3 words

These are the 3 words that describe how I feel most about life.

 

Blessed - I've been blessed with a beautiful healthy life that I never take for granit...

 

Grateful - I am grateful my children who chose me to be their mommy...

 

Thankful - I am thankful for my family and friends whom I hold dear to my heart, and the talents my Heavenly Father has given me...

Carsten - San Fernando CA

This is my personal missionary necklace I stamped in honor of my boy who is currently serving a

mission for the LDS church. He's been out 15 months now!

 

He is a Spanish speaking missionary who loves the people he teaches and those he serves. What most people don't know about missionary's is the amount of service they perform. On any given day, he could be pulling weeds in someones yard, digging up tree stumps, setting up computers or taking garbage to the dump. He is willing and able to keep his eye on the community and attends to any needs the people my need. Carsten says its been a great tool to meet members and non members alike and helps him grow closer to the people in his community.

 

Carsten is currently in his 4th transfer area and resides up in Palmdale CA for at least the next 6 weeks. This is quickly becoming his favorite area - the members are strong and the investigators are eager and willing to learn about our gospel. Carsten has also been blessed to have family in this area. His Uncle Mike's wife's parents are in his ward and are FABULOUS people to all the missionaries. They invited him to dinner his first week there and made him feel so welcome. He enjoyed seeing pictures of his cousins and family in their home - small world isn't it?

 

I've been making many of these missionary necklaces for Mom's who boys are serving. So many that I wondered why I hadn't made myself one, so when I ordered a new shipment of sterling silver, I made sure to order enough to make me one. It is a keepsake that I'll keep forever and pass down to Carsten when the time is right.

 

I am so thankful for my boy and the service he is giving at this time in his life. I know how blessed his life will be for putting personal things aside and focusing on spiritual things and the work of our Heavenly Father - he is an amazing boy who will no doubt be returning a man of great honor!
